Post-renovation cleaning checklist for Singapore homes
A post-renovation cleaning checklist for HDB flats and condos: when to book, what a proper clean covers room by room, and how to check the work.
Updated 1 min read

Post-renovation cleaning is the last step before your new home feels like home. Renovation leaves fine dust in every corner, so a quick sweep isn't enough. Use this checklist to plan the clean and check the work.
When to book
- After every trade is done: carpentry, electrical, painting touch-ups and lighting. Dust from one more job undoes the clean.
- Before furniture arrives: empty rooms are faster and cheaper to clean properly.
- Coordinate with handover: your contractor should remove debris first. HDB expects contractors to dispose of renovation debris properly.

Bedrooms and living areas

How to check the work
Walk through with the crew lead before they leave. Run a finger along tops of cabinets and door frames, look into tracks and corners with your phone torch, and check floors in daylight. Point out anything missed on the spot.
Cost and quotes
Prices depend on flat size and how much dust is left. See our cleaning service cost guide for typical ranges. Get up to 3 quotes from vetted cleaners on our cleaning page, or plan the next step with our moving checklist.
Frequently asked questions
When should I book post-renovation cleaning?
After all renovation works are finished, including carpentry, lights and touch-ups, but before you move furniture in. Book a few days ahead so the date fits your contractor's handover.
How long does a post-renovation clean take?
For a typical HDB flat, a crew of two or three usually needs most of a day. Heavier dust or a larger home can take longer or need a second visit.
Can I do post-renovation cleaning myself?
You can, but renovation dust is very fine and gets into tracks, cabinets and fans. Professional crews bring industrial vacuums and know where dust hides, which saves a lot of repeat wiping.
What isn't usually included?
Removing renovation debris, cement stains or paint splashes that need special treatment, and exterior windows on high floors are often extra or excluded. Ask before booking.
