- Check the licence for work on the water supply: ask for the PUB number and look it up on PUB's list.
- Send photos or a video of the problem for a firm price.

On their own websites (checked 19 October 2026), published toilet choke prices start from S$80 (Kiasu Plumber), S$119 (Urban Company), S$120 to S$400 depending on the method (Family Plumber) and from S$150 (Nile Plumbing). AOT lists choked drains or pipes at S$60. Prices depend on the cause and whether a machine is needed.
How do I check if a plumber is licensed by PUB?
Ask for the PUB licence number and check it against PUB's online listing of licensed plumbers. AOT (WS16882018), Mr Plumber (WS17962021) and Nile Plumbing (WS18142021) publish their numbers on their websites.
Do plumbers charge a transport or inspection fee?
Some do. Nile Plumbing lists inspection from S$60 and says transport is waived if you go ahead. Urban Company offers a S$14 consultation visit. Ask before the plumber comes out.
Do plumbers give a warranty?
Several publish one: AOT says 30 to 90 days on all work, Nile Plumbing advertises a 90-day leak-free warranty, Family Plumber a 3-month guarantee, and Urban Company a 30-day choke-free guarantee on choke jobs. Get the terms in writing.
